In an effort to promote Peruvian exports, tourism and business investment, Promperú launched ExpoPerú events aimed at consolidating the country’s international image and economically reactivating the nation in the post-Pandemic context. These exhibitions have become key platforms for showcasing Peru’s wide range of exportable goods, from food and handicrafts to high-tech products, highlighting Peru as an attractive destination for tourism and business opportunities.
AXON Marketing + Communications, selected by Promperú to develop and execute these initiatives in Latin American markets, integrated innovative elements in ExpoPerú such as the “Peru Moda” catwalk to promote the textile industry and the gastronomic component “Peru, Mucho Gusto” to support agricultural exports and gastronomic tourism.
ExpoPeru events are part of Promperu’s broader strategy to enhance Peru’s global presence and economic revival, especially in the wake of challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. These expos not only promote trade, but also support the country’s tourism sector by showcasing its unique cultural heritage, natural attractions and culinary delights, positioning Peru as a top destination for international travelers and investors.
The results of these initiatives have been remarkably positive, reflecting an 8.1% growth in non-traditional exports, a 22% increase in textiles and a 15% increase in agribusiness. In addition, there has been an average annual growth of 9.6% in the number of tourists, an increase in foreign direct investment and a rise in the value of the country’s brand and its international ranking. These achievements underscore ExpoPeru’s success as a crucial catalyst for Peru’s visibility and economic development on the global stage.
